Tanning with U.V is a personal choice we provide the information which allows you to make an educated choiceat Sanitas Per Aqua we have a stand up sun capsule which uses U.V light to create a gradual tan over the course of 12 sessions depending on your skin type. You need to be over 18years to use the sun capsule or have your parents consent. Regulations have tighten up about the use of U.V tanning so the following information is provided for your safety.

The development of a tan is a gradual process and should be achieved with a moderate schedule
the use of good quality Pre tan lotions will help the natural tan develop and therefore decrease the exposure required, while putting essential moisture back into the skin.
Over exposure to U.V light radiation contributes to skin ageing and may cause skin cancer
People with very fair skin who are unable to tan should not use a sun tanning unit
intentional ultra violet exposure should be avoided for 48 hours after tanning indoors or out doors
protective eye wear must be worn at all times while tanning. you must not read while the tanning unit is in operation
there is additional risk and exposure is not recommended if

you have ever been treated for solar keratoses or skin cancer
you have ever suffered from an abnormal reaction or allergy to light

there may be further risk if you are pregnant, taking certain medications or wearing certain cosmetics

If there is any doubt in your mind in relation to any of the particulars in these last two items, consult your doctor before undergoing any Ultra violet exposure

Safe and careful tanning is an essential part of life and is what our skin is designed to do. Our safe tanning practice includes skin consultation and education about skin and tanning. Tanning sessions are monitored by skin experts and regulated.

Start with in our shower using an organic scrub to wash away any dead skin cells and moisturizer, then to the organic spray tan followed by a drying session in the sun capsule without u.v lights on, so you won’t smudge or streak your tan.

TOP TIPS FOR SPRAY TANNING

Remove all unwanted body hair 24hrs prior to your tan
Exfoliate (scrubby thing sort of looks like a puff ball, or gritty body wash stuff) all over, especially dry areas like ankles and elbows
No moisturiser or deodorant worn to appointment
Wear loose dark clothes
After your appointment wait 6-8 hrs for tan to develop (if you have to sleep in it sleep in old dark sheets, it may stain)
Wash off (after the 6-8 hrs)with body wash and use puff thing or gritty body wash if needed around ankles, elbows and feet. You will see the colour run off, that's normal
DON'T SWEAT straight after your spray tan........no you can't go to the gym or play sport!
Spray tan lasts 8-10 days
moisturise to keep tan looking good, exfoliate as it starts to wear off to keep it even and natural looking
